The Creative Arts Committee is in full swing. We will open our doors for the Grants Cycle on November 15, 2009. If you are interested in learning more about the Art i.e. What is a Theme Camp, What is a Creative Installation, What are Mutant Vehicles - Please take a look at the Arts & Camps page.

For a better idea of this take a look at our Photo Archives from previous years (and please add your photos to the pool!).

The deadline for submitting a grant is Midnight, January 15, 2009. No grants will be received after this deadline. Please email if you have any questions.

WANTED - New Recruits for the Apogaea Board of Directors

It's that time of year again when we hog-tie new prospects and run them through the gauntlet of wackiness. Okay, not completely true but we are looking to fill a few open seats on the Apogaea Board of Directors.

What we get:

• New meat for Fucking Lee to prey upon.

• The opportunity of influencing others with the power of mind control
• Burning 1000-2000 calories per day during the event
• An Apogaea weekend retreat to explore our minds
• Influencing the direction Apogaea grows and changes

Please email for the application. This will include a short questionnaire and a contact information form so we can keep track of you.

Please bring questionnaire to the Falling Rock Taphouse on Sunday and be ready to fully explain all of your answers.

New Board Members will be announced on Nov 7th

Also - if you are thinking about being a Board Member, also think about running for an Officer's Seat. All positions will be open.

1. Anyone and Everyone are invited to sit in on Board Meetings. We just ask that you please refrain from disruptive comments, spit balls, rotten tomatoes, and the like.

2. Anyone interested in being a Committee Lead (like heading up volunteer recruiting, sound coordination, event photography, gate, greeters, or many more FUNctional areas of the event!) is also welcome to join us on Nov. 2nd for the 4:00 - 6:00pm Meet N' Greet.

Greetings Apogaeans!

It's been a stupendous summer, and I don't think we could have possibly fit any more merriment into it without a shoehorn and lots of bacon grease :-)

Now, as we wind down from the summer silliness, Apogaea is just starting to wind up. We've held our first planning meeting already, and the wheels are in motion. Keep an eye out for more announcements, information, and opportunities coming soon!

For the immediate future....are you planning to attend the Burning Man decompression this Saturday? Great! Us too!!

Be sure to check out some the art-in-progress for Apogaea 2009 during the night. Yes, that's right, artists are already hard at work, scheming larger, burnier, more mind-blowing art than ever for this year. And they need your help!! If you're interested in helping with a project in motion, be sure to talk to these folks at Decompression. We are looking forward to another fabulous year at Apogaea.

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to each and every Apogaean who made Apogaea 2008 truly out of this world. We were awestruck by the rich smell of community spirit that permeated the mountains this past weekend.

Stay tuned for post-burn tidbits and exodus information as the Apogaea Board unpacks and wraps up from the event. We've raised the bar in many ways this year, and have monkeys working around the clock to tabulate all the fun we've had, for official reporting.
